When another person does something wrong to you, it always turns out that you have to be the one that needs fixing, right? so same. Today, i'm going to talk about enemies. YEP! We all have em, some of us are them, but that's okay because there is grace and forgiveness at the feet of Jesus. its been heavy on my heart lately, the topic of enemies, and its time we get some things straight.

in Luke 6:27 it says "But you who are listening;i say love your enemies, DO GOOD to those who HATE you." WOAH, WHAT?! do good to those people who go OUT OF THEIR WAY to hurt you? pft, OKAY. then it continues in verse 28 saying "BLESS those who curse you, Pray for those who mistreat you." now do you get it? why do you think we are doing good, blessing, and praying for the people who hurt us and mock us? non christians will act like non christians, it is our job to hold up the image of Christ and THAT is why we are acting fervently on Luke 6:27-28. so, in turn, lets clean up a few things.

1) Change your thoughts toward your enemy. okay, so we all know what overthinking is. IT IS THE WORST THING EVER. whats worse is when your over thinking thoughts turn into scenarios that you build up on your own, your own assumptions(we all know what that word makes out of us :-) ) that leave you stranded in your thoughts. do you ever wonder what would happen if we replaced those over thinking, assumption and scenario building thoughts? "replace them with what exactly?" IM GLAD YOU ASKED! replace them with JESUS! its a cliche answer, i know, but i SWEAR when you put all of your thoughts on Christ you are illuminated with joy and peace and COMFORT in your own thoughts.

2) Change your words to your enemy. okay, words suck. especially the mean ones, am i right. its important for us to have modest motives, that includes having a modest mouth. a pure mouth. our words need to reflect that of Christ. what a more powerful way of affecting someone with the Gospel than with our words!

3) Change your actions toward your enemy. acting shady, flaky, or just plain undesirable to your enemy and their feelings is probably one of the worst things you can do. okay, but lets talk about how we like to just forget it ever happened but never acknowledge their existence when we're around them. Y'ALL. there is a war waging so much bigger than this, a war for the kingdom! WHY do we have these enemies when we need to be working together? use LOVE, GRACE, and FORGIVENESS as your choice of actions!

in Luke 6:31 it says "Do to others as you would have them do to you." what does that mean? DO. go out and DO.

love your enemies. always, until there is nothing left, love.

Luke 6:27-28

Luke 6:31

Stay blessed, YOU are his beloved.
