Grow, baby, grow!

Romans 12:2

"Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his god, pleasing, and perfect will."

Do not conform:

as christians, we are called to be different. set apart from the lost, but not separated. how cool is it that God made us with a purpose and that purpose causes us to stand out?! i will be the first to admit that when i am in a crowd i know i don't fit in with, it can get real awkward real quick. BUT the Lord is so good and he uses those moments to glorify him and uses us to minister!

be transformed: as we grow in the knowledge of God's character through the study of his word, we can not help but grow into an exponentially deeper love for him. this is why romans 12:2 is so importan! we come to understand who God is and we are changed. our affections detach from lesser things and attach to him. if we want to feel a deeper love for God, we must learn to see him more clearly for who he is.if we want to feel deeply about God, we must learn to think deeply about God.

Grow baby!

"bible study that equips does not neglect self-knowledge, but it puts self-knowledge int he right place: informed by the knowledge of God." "we are called to be people who delight ourselves in the Lord, who can say with conviction that "at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." (psalm 16:11)

finding greater pleasure in God will not result from pursuing more experiences of him, but from knowing him better.

in conclusion, i wrote this today all to say, growth needs to happen in order to become more like christ daily. growth in the word, growth in prayer, growth in quiet time, and growth in your relationships. his will for your life is good, pleasing, and perfect.
